Treat yourself to an ancient Scandinavian tradition while you stay at City Backpackers! Have a free sauna after trotting around the city, relax sore feet and meet new friends! The sauna is free every afternoon at 17.00 (5pm) for girls and 18.00 (6pm) for boys. You can also book the sauna any other time of the day for a small fee.
At City Backpackers we can’t stand the thought of our guests being hungry! Pasta is free all the time, boil it and eat it plain or buy some sauce in the reception.
The big guest kitchen is fully equipped with utensils as well as microwaves and refrigerators. But the main point is; this is a great place to get to know the other guests!

There are 17 showers at City Backpackers, all recently renovated. And no extra charge for the hot showers. Of course not! We can’t have our guests stinking now can we?
All rooms are provided with central heating in winter and air condition in summer, so that a constant temperature of about 20 degrees centigrade is maintained. In case you come from a warmer part of the planet and feel chilly, don’t hesitate to ask the staff for an extra blanket! We will keep you safe and warm!
Surf all you want - in bed or in our internet café. Internet is free of charge with six computers and high speed cable connection. You can also use your own laptop if you have a wireless adapter installed. The WIFI covers all guestrooms and is (ah, get used to it) also free!
Remember the most important meal of the day! Every morning we serve a tasty breakfast in our café. A double sandwich with cheese and ham, a cup of tea or fresh Swedish coffee and a glass of orange juice. Check in price 39 SEK.(Or have a pasta breakfast for free in the guest kitchen if you’re on a tight budget!)
Our laundry facilities can be used during reception opening hours 08.00 – 02.00 (8am – 2am). The price of 50 SEK includes washing powder and tumble drying.
Help us save the planet! City Backpackers is working on getting the European Ecolabel for accommodation (the flower). We have an environmental policy regarding waste recycling, using electricity from renewable sources, energy efficient white wares and light bulbs, and a non smoking indoor environment.
The hostel has cable TV with channels like Eurosport, MTV, CNN and BBC. (Free of course!) If there is nothing good on TV, have a game of mini table tennis.
We show you the best Swedish film in the TV room every evening. So if you don’t feel like going out, make yourself some pop corn and curl up in an armchair!
Come hang out with us! We have several natural meeting points in the hostel: Comfortable lounges with sofas, tables, chairs, cable TV, books and cool people. Settle in an armchair and read newspapers and magazines in English. Or mingle with locals in our new café! It’s the only place in the hostel where our Swedish neighbours have access, and they love it!
As long as the weather allows there is a courtyard at your disposal, furnished with tables, comfy sofas and chairs. Take a moment to relax, write a couple of postcards, read a good book or meet some of the other guests under the open sky. This is the only place in the hostel were smoking is allowed.
We have lockers in all rooms if you want to lock up your luggage. Use your own padlock or buy one in the reception at a bargain price!
Before you check in or after you have checked out you can keep your luggage in our luggage room, free of charge. Perfect if you have a couple of hours before your flight, train or boat leaves and don’t want to carry your heavy backpack around town!
We have three phones for you to use: Two that work with international calling cards and one working with Swedish national calling cards, coins and some international calling cards.
Once you have checked in, the hostel has no curfew. You can come and go as you like with the door codes you get when you check in. And the Stockholm club scene is pretty good, so don't tuck yourself in too early!
We accept most credit cards, including VISA and Master Card, but not American Express.
You don’t have to be a member of a hostel organisation to stay at our hostel. City Backpackers is affiliated to the Swedish hostel organisation SVIF (Sveriges Vandrarhem i Förening) and VIP backpackers. We also cooperate with Hostelworld.com.
